Today, we come together to honor and celebrate the life of Trey Perkins III—a man who meant so much to so many.
Trey was a thoughtful person at his core. He was the kind of man who showed up—not just when it was easy, but when it mattered most. He was always there for the people he loved, always ready to help, to listen, and to stand by your side. If Trey cared about you, he fought for you. And that kind of loyalty is something truly special.
He wore many roles in his life—father, son, brother, uncle, and friend—but one of the roles he cherished the most was being a father. He loved his daughters deeply, and you could see that love in everything he did. He was an amazing stepfather to Doodie, stepping into that role with love and care, just like he did with everything in his life. Whether he was on the sidelines cheering them on or giving them advice, he made sure his daughters knew they were supported. And one of the most beautiful things he gave them was something simple, yet powerful: “Just be a good human being.” That’s the kind of man Trey was—someone who believed in kindness, in doing right by others, and in leading with heart.
Trey had his passions too—he loved boxing, basketball, betting on sports games, playing video games, and just enjoying life in his own way. He knew how to have a good time, how to laugh, and how to make others feel comfortable just being around him.
But more than anything, Trey had a good heart. He cared about people—no matter who they were. He always wanted the best for others, and he moved through life with that intention. That’s something that will never be forgotten.
Even though he is no longer here with us physically, the impact he made, the love he gave, and the memories we share will live on forever. In the way we support each other, in the way we love, and in the way we choose to be better people—just like he encouraged.
Trey, you were truly one of a kind. You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.
Rest easy.
