Our Staff


Sammy is a native of Jeanerette and a 1992 Graduate of Jeanerette Senior High. Realizing his desire to help people he attended Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas and graduated with honors and distinction in 1995.
Sammy then joined the staff of Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, Louisiana. While at Falgout Funeral Home he had the opportunity to serve families in Lafourche, Terrebonne, and St. Charles Parishes. He received his Louisiana State Embalming and Funeral Directing Licenses in July 1996 and in January 1997 Sammy returned home and joined the staff of David Funeral Home where he could serve the families of the community in which he had grown up.
In April 2006 he accepted the position of Regional Manager for the David Funeral Homes in Lafayette and Vermilion Parish which Includes facilities in Abbeville, Erath, and Lafayette. He quickly developed a deep respect for the families of the unique communities he serves and is honored to assist them in their time of need. He is a former member and past president of the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and currently serves on the Abbeville Housing Authority .
Sammy is married to D’Lisa and they have one daughter, Alyssa. They are active members of Calvary Pentecostal Church where they serve in several departments of the churches’ ministries. With God as the center of his life, Sammy has the strength and ability to help families at a difficult time in their lives.
Sammy has dedicated his life to assisting people in their time of need and maintaining the dignity of funeral service. He believes everyone is unique and special in their own way; therefore, every celebration of life should be as unique as the person being remembered. As a licensed pre-need agent and dedicated funeral director, Sammy deems it a privilege to assist families; whether it’s pre-planning a funeral to minimize the burden on those left behind or guiding a family as they arrange a personalized service that reflects the life of their loved one.
His compassion, integrity, and willingness to give each service a personal touch is why families throughout the communities Frioux-David Funeral Home serves entrust their loved one into his care.



Joanne is a licensed Funeral Director at Frioux-David Funeral Home and has lived in the Acadiana area since 2018. She started out part-time assisting families during visitations and her passion quickly grew, leading her to further pursue a career in the funeral industry. She is currently enrolled in Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services to complete her funeral service education and become a dual licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer. She has developed a deep respect for the customs of our community.

Katie LeDoux Rocha is a resident of Kaplan, Louisiana. She attended Kaplan High School and graduated in the spring of 2012. She enrolled in the Funeral Services program at Delgado Community College and graduated with her associate degree in 2016. She joined our team as an intern in the fall of 2018 and has been a Funeral Director/Embalmer serving our community since the completion of her internship.
Katie is married to Isaque Rocha and they are proud parents of one son.
Katie's dedication is evident in her work as she strives to helps families in their time of need..


After graduation from Gueydan High School in 1977, Farley worked for David’s
Ambulance service as a medic. During his time with David’s he had to opportunity to be
exposed to the Funeral Industry.
Once the ambulance service was sold to a local competitor, Farley continued his
medical care at Abbeville General Hospital for a number of years. From there he moved
on to oil field related services then on to public service working for the Lafayette Parish
Sheriff’s office for the better part of 7 years.
In 1996 Farley had decided to complete his education with a side dish of adventure, he
moved to San Antonio, Texas. While living in San Antonio Farley attend the University of
the Incarnate Word for 3 years then transferred to Our Lady of the Lake University
where he earned an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Religion
with a minor in Human Biology in December of 2003. During that time Farley was
employed by USAA insurance company as a member acquisitions specialist for the
better part of 8 years.
After the death of Farley’s sister Kathy, he felt it was time to come home and again be
part of the Cajun Family Lifestyle. Farley believes there is nothing more important than
family and the love of family to make a person whole and strong.
Farley rejoined the David Family business after a 33-year absence. Farley has
completed his Master’s degree of Science in Non-Profit Management and Leadership
from the Our Lady of thge Lake University. He is a graduate of the Commonwealth
Institute of Funeral Service where he received his Mortuary Science Degree. He is a
Funeral Director serving New Iberia, Loreauville, Jeanerette, Abbeville, Erath and
Lafayette locations.
Farley has been a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gueydan, La., Member of
the Knights of Columbus for the past 15 years and also is a Volunteer Chaplain at Our
Lady of Lourdes Hospital for 6 years.
Over the years, I had the honor and privilege of working with some wonderful people
that I am proud to call family. The era we have just embarked on is one that is steeped
in tradition, honor and heritage. When working for a family base company, you become
family.
Mr. Frioux is one of the family. Spent over 25 years as part of the group and is
continuing the tradition of family.
Frioux Funeral Home is a generation of family, I can say I am very proud of being a part
of the next generation in the journey.

Walter “Sammy” Frioux, D’Lisa, and their daughter Alyssa have dedicated their lives to serving others. Whether it’s in their local church, in the community, or simply helping friends and family. With the support of D’lisa and his family, Sammy will be taking the leadership role in the daily operations of Frioux-David Funeral and their affiliated companies which include Frioux-David Marble & Granite and Beau Pre Cemetery.
