Lafayette – A Gathering of Family and Friends for Mrs. Bobbie S. Valentine, 73, will take place at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette.
Bobbie Valentine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. An avid reader, she could often be found lost between the pages of a gripping mystery novel, always eager to see how the story would unfold. Her flower gardens were a reflection of her nurturing nature, lovingly tended throughout the years and the seasons.
Nothing brought her greater happiness than her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored them beyond measure and cherished every moment spent with her family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her loved for animals was equally evident, especially when it came to cats, who held a special piece of her heart.
She was known for her endless creativity, always dreaming up new ways to improve and remodel her home. Whether rearranging a room, starting a new project, or adding a special touch to the familial space, she took pride in making her house a place of comfort and beauty. She also had a playful side that loved to indulge in the many adventures of the world of Nintendo’s Zelda.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will carry on in the flowers that bloom, her stories that are shared, and the family that she cherished so dearly. Her kindness, devotion, and love will remain in the hearts of every person who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, William Valentine; her son, Hermon L. Walton III and his wife Kim; her three step-children Ellen Tuschl and her husband Jim, Stephen Valentine and his wife Kim, Nicole Cordes and her husband Scott; her grandchildren, Hermon L. Walton IV and his wife Hailey, Blake J. Walton; her great-grandchildren, Elliott Walton, Danielle Phillips; her sister, Beverely Walton and her husband Phillip Walton Sr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Smith, and Virginia Banks Smith; her son, David B. Walton; her nephew, Phillip Walton Jr.
