Erath--A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Mary Ann Faulk Suire on Saturday, June 13th at 1:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Erath, Louisiana with Fr. Clinton Sensat officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at Frioux Funeral Home in Erath on Saturday, June 13th from 9:00am until the service with a rosary at 11:00am.

Mary Ann Faulk Suire was born on October 26, 1936 to Lennis Faulk and Ella Broussard Faulk. She was raised on the Broussard family farm north of Maurice where she grew up picking cotton. She was a diligent student and finished high school at Judice High in 1954. She then went on to Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now UL) in Lafayette and obtained her secretarial science certificate.

Family was a priority to Mary. She married Roland James Suire of Erath in 1956 and they had four children. They lovingly raised their children and a grandson in Erath. She was also always eager to help with her other four grandchildren, all of who were “the favorite”.

Her Catholic faith was also important in her life. She volunteered as a catechism teacher, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Saying her rosary was part of her daily routine as well as attending mass on all holy days of obligation.

Everyone was always welcomed at her table. She demonstrated love by always having a good rice & gravy on the table. She also loved to shop and was always excited to dress her family. She loved music and was always eager to go to country music concerts and Cajun music festivals. She was also an avid reader and remembered everyone’s birthdays. She never passed up a good game of Bouree or the chance to gather with friends for pokeno.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Keith Russell Suire, and a sister Melba Faulk Stoute.

She is survived by her sons Kent Joel (Cynthia) Suire, Jody Manuel (Robin) Suire, and her daughter Ann Marie (Robert) Bernard; and a sister Geraldine (Rodney) Broussard.   Her five grandchildren also survive her. They are James (Misty) Suire, Laina (Daniel) Raggette, Lucas (Laura) Suire, Kyle Suire and Leslie Suire. She is also survived by four great grandchildren and many step great-grandchildren.  Her husband's siblings, Richard (Beverly) Suire and Melissa (Maurice) Hebert, also survive her.

Pallbearers will be James Suire, Lucas Suire, Kyle Suire, Daniel Raggette, Robert Bernard and Greg Stoute. Gift bearers will be Laina Raggette, Leslie Suire and Laura Suire. Readers will be Cynthia Suire and Robin Suire.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the passionate care given by her many caregivers over the last five years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your consideration of a donation to a charity of your choice.
