Lafayette – Funeral Services for Mr. Russell Johnny Troy, 72, will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, June 03, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Tim Marcantel officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 02, 2026, at 1:00PM until 8:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM, by The Men's Rosary Group of New Iberia. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 03, 2026, at 9:00AM until the time of service.

Russell Johnny Troy, born November 09, 1953, departed this earth on May 26, 2026. He was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Vincent, Sr., and Rita Girard Troy. Russell married his lovely bride, Norma, on August 16, 1973. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who had a passion for deer hunting and fishing on his boat. Russell was a truck driver for many years which allowed him to see and travel the U.S. Although he and Norma never had any of their own kids, they poured their love into their numerous amounts of nieces and nephews. Family was important to him, and Russell was always willing to jump in the car with you and go wherever you wanted. After the death of his wife, you could find Russell out at the park or just riding around visiting people he knew with his dog, Spirit.

He is survived by his brothers, Vincent Troy, Jr. and his wife Claire of Youngsville, Clarence Troy and his wife Billie of Harker Heights, TX, and James Troy of Youngsville; four nieces, Tammy Bertrand and her husband Conrad of Lafayette, Michelle Troy of Harker Heights, TX, Tina Stoeser of Killeen, TX, and Samantha Joiner and her husband Ron of Killeen, TX; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Falcon Troy; his parents, Vincent Sr., and Rita Girard Troy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman, Sr., and Annie Falcon.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Joiner, Michael Cardiel Jr., Clarence Troy, Payton Bertrand, Conrad Bertrand, and Samantha Joiner.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Troy, Vincent Troy Jr., and Jeremy Troy.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Hospice and The Carpenter House for the compassionate care they showed Mr. Russell and his family.
