Willis Perry "Black" Vallot

LAFAYETTE-A Mass of Christian Burial for Willis Perry “Black” Vallot, 82, will be at 11:30 AM Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville with Father Kyle White Officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anne Cemetery.

Visitation will be in David Funeral Home of Lafayette Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until service time.

Black passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Carpenter House in Lafayette. He enjoyed working the soil whether it was the farm or the garden. He had a strong work ethic and strived to instill this same in his family. He enjoyed his hunting trips to Carroll’s camp and cooking what they killed. He had a generous spirit and would help anyone in need.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Ann Coleman and husband Randy of Youngsville, Myra Latiolais of Carencro, Carita Vallot of Broussard, Joette Roper and husband Craig of Lafayette, Kim Hanchey of Youngsville, 2 sisters, Doris Romero and husband Jimmy of New Iberia, Gladys Lasseigne and husband Larry of Youngsville, 6 grandchildren, Rhyana Savoy and husband Chad of Broussard, Yvette Lavergne and fiancé Jeremy Lewis of Carencro, Jill Coleman and fiancé Alex Fontenot of Maurice, Callie Hanchey of Youngsville, Grant Roper of Lafayette, Owen Roper of Lafayette, 8 great grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Ethan, Allie, Katie, Maggie, Blaze and Ember.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Comeaux Vallot, his parents, John and Olive Guillot Vallot and 2 brothers, Lewis Vallot and Wallace Vallot.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Chad Savoy, Owen Roper, Grant Roper, Carrol Blanchard, Chad Comeaux, and Scott Burley. Honorary pallbearers are Evan Reese, Brent Reese, Lowell Hanchey and Ann Coleman.
