New Iberia – A Graveside Service for Mrs. Virginia Lamperez Gore, 86, will be held at 1:00PM, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia, with Deacon Dirk Viator officiating.
Mrs. Virginia Lamperez Gore, a native of New Iberia, was born and raised in the community she always called home. A devoted Catholic, Virginia lived her life guided by faith, love, and grace. She was married to the love of her life, Edwin Gore, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. Throughout her life, Virginia faced and overcame many adversities, and with the unconditional support of her husband, family, and friends, she lived a truly blessed and beautiful life. Virginia earned a degree in Education from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL) and went on to teach business English at a technical college. She had a true passion for helping others learn and grow. Brilliant and accomplished, she often made her husband proud, Edwin would lovingly say, “I married beauty and smarts.” In addition to her love of teaching, Virginia was a gifted classical pianist and played beautifully throughout her life, bringing joy and elegance to all who heard her. Virginia delighted in the simple pleasures of life. She loved classic movies and musicals, especially *Gone with the Wind* and *The Sound of Music*. She adored fashion and makeup and always took pride in her appearance. Known for her thick, beautiful dark hair, truly her signature, she favored Merle Norman cosmetics and never hid her movie crush on Harrison Ford. 💕 She loved a clean home and had a well-known sweet tooth, often choosing a slice of cheesecake over a full meal. Above all else, Virginia loved her family. She will be remembered for her kindness to everyone she met, her quick wit, her beautiful smile and infectious laugh, and most of all for being the very best mother, wife, daughter, and friend. Virginia Gore will remain in our hearts forever, and her memory will live on through all who loved her.
Virginia Lamperez Gore is survived by her son, Edwin Jordan Gore, Jr. and his wife Teri of Lafayette; her daughter, Lisa Acquazzino and her husband Jay of Fulshear, TX; five grandchildren, Jordan Christine Tracy and her husband John of Lafayette, Brayden Casey Dupuy and his wife Aidyn of Shreveport, Alexander Miles Gore and his wife Madeline of Lafayette, Calli Christine Fabre and her husband Haydn of Lafayette, and John Joseph Acquazzino, III of Austin, TX; two great grandchildren, Graham Ogden Dupuy and Levi Ernest Fabre.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Edwin Jordan Gore, Jr.; her son, Christopher Matthew Gore; and her parents, Jack John Lamperez and Virginia Mary Drago Lamperez.
