Tommy, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Sunday, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life well lived.
Tommy had a gift for bringing people together. Conversations and memories were made at family gatherings and holidays, where there was always a well-seasoned meal prepared by Tommy. He was best known for his tender and flavorful roast and barbeque, and he made the best tasting fried shrimp in the world. He found joy in cooking for those he loved.
He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, taking pride in keeping his yard meticulously mowed and landscaped. Tommy's green thumb was evident in his vibrant gardens, full of blooming flowers and fresh vegetables. When his grandchildren came along, they stole his heart; and his free time became theirs. He devoted all his focus to watching them grow up and thrive.
A thoughtful reader, Tommy found inspiration and perspective in political and spiritual books. He was also a loyal LSU fan, cheering on the Tigers with passion and pride. For over 30 years, he worked in the oil field, where he not only built a career but formed countless lifelong friendships.
Tommy shared his days with Tucker, his spirited and feisty dachshund, who brought him both mischief and endless affection. Their bond was one of constant companionship and unspoken understanding.
Tommy’s warmth, humor, and hardworking spirit touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a good, honest, and loving man by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rita Broussard Bouillion; two sons, Brant Bouillion and his wife Kristi, and Blake Bouillion and his wife Michelle; seven grandchildren, Grace, Connor, Adeline, Ali, Ryan, Hannah, and Emma; two sisters, Cindy Dubois and her husband Randal, and Tammy Moss; and a brother, Steve Bouillion and his wife Darlene.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Venola Soirez Bouillion; his father-in-law, Harold Broussard, his brother-in-law, Mark Moss; his grandchild, Jacob Avery; and his godchild, Scott Pacetti.
Serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Broussard, Josh Dubois, Zac Moss, Tristin Bouillion, Ryan LeBlanc, and Jeremy Touchet.
