Abbeville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ms. Thu Thanh Tran Nguyen, 54, at 11:30AM, on September 26, 2026, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 6:00PM, on Thursday, September 24, 2026 and Friday September 25, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home of Abbeville. A Prayer Service will be held from 6:00PM - 6:30PM. Mass will be celebrated after both Prayer Services, in the funeral home.

Thu Nguyen was a loving mother, hardworking woman, compassionate friend, and a truly selfless soul. She was dedicated to the people she loved and had a heart that always made room for others. She was forgiving, kind, and generous, often putting the needs of others before her own. To her daughter, Thu was not only a mother—she was her best friend, her greatest source of love and comfort, and her entire world. Their bond was one of a kind, built on unconditional love, countless memories, and a lifetime of devotion. Her daughter was the greatest love and pride of her life. For 25 years, Thu was the proud owner of Magic Nails, a place she poured her heart and dedication into. Over the years, she built lasting relationships with her customers, many of whom became like an additional family to her. Thu had a beautiful ability to appreciate the little things in life. She found happiness in simple moments and never needed much to feel grateful. She cherished the people around her and made the most of every moment she was given. She was also a proud four-legged grandmother to Hank, Henry, and Gray, who brought her endless love, companionship, and joy. Thu’s life was marked by hard work, dedication, love, forgiveness, and compassion. After a short and courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer, Thu’s journey came to an end far sooner than anyone could have imagined. Though her time was cut short, the love she gave and the lives she touched will continue on through everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a daughter, a mother, a friend, a business owner, and a second mother and friend to many. But above all, she was someone who loved deeply and gave wholeheartedly. Her absence will be felt in the quiet moments, in the familiar places, in the people she cared for, and in all the little things she taught us to appreciate. She was deeply loved and she always will be.

Thu leaves behind her daughter and best friend, Haley Nguyen; her older brother, Dung Tran and his wife Huong Le; and her nephew, Ken.
