Thomas P. Jesset

Abbeville- Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas P. Jesset, 77, will be held at Frioux Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 1:00PM with Deacon Russel Hayes officiating. Inurnment will he held at St. Paul Cemetery on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 10:00AM with military honors being performed by the Acadian Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held at Frioux Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 11:30AM until time of services with a recitation of the rosary at 12:30PM.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Thomas was raised in Elmont, New York, where he spent his formative years. In 1991, he made the move to Abbeville, Louisiana, where he established his home and became a permanent resident. He was a proud Vietnam veteran. Mr. Thomas served his country with honor. He carried with him a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for the rich flavors of Cajun cuisine. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who brought him great joy and happiness. He will be remembered for the life he lived, his service to his country, and the precious memories he created with those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jesset of Abbeville; his son, Robert Jesset and his wife Jennifer of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Owen Jesset and Alexandra Jesset; his brother, Richard Jesset and his wife Ena of Shelburne, Vermont; and his niece and nephews, Colby, Carly, and Jack.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Jesset and Mary Hardy Jesset.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jesset, Owen Jesset, Brian Blome, Toney Robertson, Lothar Blome, and Henry Griggs.
