Sterling Broussard, Sr. lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, faith, family, and integrity. He built a remarkable career spanning more than 50 years in the tire industry, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike. His dedication and contributions to the profession were recognized with his induction into the Louisiana Tire Dealer Hall of Fame, an honor that reflected a lifetime of excellence and commitment. Sterling's legendary work ethic began at an early age, shaped by his father while trapping in the marshes together. Those lessons of perseverance, honesty, and responsibility became the foundation upon which he built both his business and his life. Through his work, he helped countless people, always willing to lend a hand or extend kindness to someone in need. His generosity was quiet but constant, and he believed that a person's character was measured by how they treated others. A devoted public servant, Sterling proudly served as Justice of the Peace for Ward 2 for twelve years. He was also a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus, where he found fellowship and opportunities to serve his community. Outside of work, Sterling embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid fisherman and cherished spending time at his hunting camp in Denham Springs. Whether enjoying the outdoors or gathering with friends for a drink and good conversation, he valued the simple pleasures and the relationships he built throughout his life. Known for his quick wit and mischievous sense of humor, Sterling never missed an opportunity to stir the pot, keeping those around him laughing and on their toes. He also had a deep love for politics and always enjoyed a spirited discussion about current events. Sterling was a lifelong baseball fan, especially devoted to the New York Yankees. Yet nothing brought him greater pride than his family. He adored his grandchildren and rarely missed one of their sporting events, enthusiastically cheering them on from the stands. Being present for their accomplishments and milestones brought him immense joy, and they will forever treasure the memories of seeing him in the crowd. Sterling lived by principles that were never compromised. One of his favorite sayings was, "A man has one name. It's either good or bad; there's no in between." He believed a person's reputation was their greatest possession and lived each day striving to honor his own. He also believed in living within one's means, often saying, "If you can't buy it outright, you don't need it." These values of honesty, responsibility, and integrity were evident in every aspect of his life. Sterling Broussard, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, laughter, service, and love. He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a trusted friend, a respected businessman, and a man whose word was his bond.
