Sherwood "Shawee" Adam `Derouen

New Iberia– A Family Gathering and Celebration of the life of Sherwood "Shawee" Adam Derouen will be held at a later date.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Jeanerette, Sherwood “Shawee Adam Derouen passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 4:55 AM at his residence. Mr. Derouen was a retired employee of Twin Brothers Marine for 22 years.  Shawee, as everyone that knew him, enjoyed going fishing with his wife, Linda, and he loved watching his wrestling.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Rawlins Derouen of 23 years; daughters, Rachel Leblanc (Jason), Shawn Silas, Pamela Rawlins, Jennifer Rawlins; brother, Rickey Derouen (Jeanette); sisters, Lovina Pepper (Randy), Lorena Breaux (John), Sandra Tran (Hoa); 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by parents, U.L. Derouen, Sr. and Beulah Mae Leblanc Derouen; brothers, U.L. Derouen, Jr., Elwood Derouen.
