Abbeville- Funeral services for Mr. Shawn Joseph Romero, 36, will be held at Frioux Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 2:30PM with Deacon Bill officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Frioux Funeral Home of Abbeville on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 11:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 5:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 10:00AM until time of services.

A resident of Abbeville, Mr. Shawn passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. He will be remembered as a humble, quiet man who preferred a simple life and found joy in helping others whenever he could. He spent some time working as an electrician, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. In his free time, he enjoyed working on his car and spending time with friends. Though he often kept to himself, his kindness and generosity spoke louder than words. He will be deeply missed by many.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Romero of Abbeville; his uncles, Ronald Cessac and his wife Joslin and their family, and Errol James Romero and his family; his aunts, Donna Hebert and her family, Sonia Primeaux, Julie Ann Romero, and Renee Pillette; and his cousin, Payton Tyler Romero and his family, and Derika Romero Boudreaux and her family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Randall James Romero; his brother, Randy James Romero; his paternal grandparents, Joseph Clyde “JC” Romero and Lee Joyce Mergist; his maternal grandparents, John Dallas Romero and Delta Mae Menard Romero; his uncles, Francis Romero, Jr., and Richard Keith “Butch” Romero; his aunt, Sheryl Ann Romero; and his cousin, Adam John Edward Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clint Lege, Aaron Romero, E.J. Romero, Errol Romero, Payton Romero, and Andrew Lege.
