Sam "Baby Sam" J. Sherville, Jr.

New Iberia– Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Sam “Baby Sam” J. Sherville, Jr., 69.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of St. Martinville, Sam passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Maison Teche Nursing Home.  He loved a good meal, a night at the casino, and enjoyed his work.  He had a rough exterior but had a big heart and loved his family.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette Sherville; his three daughters, Simone Sonnier, Cheryl Milazzo, Annette McCreary; his son, Robert Perez; his eight grandchildren; and his five siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Inez Sherville; and his brother, Lawrence Sherville.

The family would like to thank Maison Teche Nursing Home and Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion.
