Mrs. Sabra LeBlanc Simon passed away at 5:05PM, on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Woodbriar Assisted Living in Maurice. A beloved teacher, avid reader, and endlessly stylish hostess, Mrs. Sabra brought warmth, laughter, and elegance to every corner of her life. For 25 years, she inspired countless students as an 8th-grade reading and French teacher, where she was affectionately known as “Madame.” Her love for literature was infectious, her classroom a place where imagination and knowledge thrived. At 35, with seven children at home, she returned to school and graduated at the top of her class—a testament to her strength, intelligence, and determination. Beyond the classroom, she was a vibrant presence in her church choir and the heart behind unforgettable Christmas pageants and productions—some so lively they even featured her husband in a tutu. Her creativity knew no bounds, especially during the holidays. Christmas was more than a season to her—it was a way of life, with decorations that sparkled from Thanksgiving Day and carols playing on the radio. A proud member of the Demitasse Club, she was known for her impeccable style, love of hosting, and a party spirit that made every gathering magical. Her quick wit and radiant sense of humor lit up every room she entered. She could out-whistle anyone and, to the surprise of many, handle a shotgun with the same grace she brought to the dinner table. Avid reader, loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother—her greatest joy was found in the company of family. High school sweethearts, she and her husband built a life filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, grace, and sparkle—forever cherished and never forgotten.

Mrs. Sabra LeBlanc Simon is survived by her devoted husband of 75 years, Joseph Roger Simon; four sons, Joseph “Chuck” Simon, II and his wife Karen of Erath, Burt Simon and his wife Ann Fluitt of Lafayette, Robert Simon and his wife Kay Young of Erath, and Phil Simon and his wife Jamie of Erath; two daughters, Carol Picard of Erath, and Sonia Simon and her partner David Randall of Houston; ten grandchildren, Joseph “Chucky” Simon, III of Erath, Jed Simon of Missouri, Ross Simon and his wife Courtney of Nunez, Ada LeDoux and her husband Dr. Shawn LeDoux of Hattiesburg, Jacob Simon and his partner Enrrique Mayes of Youngsville, Taylor Simon and his wife Claire of North Carolina, Kallen Simon of Erath, Rebecca Simon and her wife Channing Langlinais of Lafayette, Alie Broussard and her husband Gavin of Duson, and Megan Kekich and her husband Kevin of North Carolina; and twelve great-grandchildren, Kennedi Simon, Alex Simon, William Paul Simon, Lawson Simon, Camille Simon, Jeanne LeDoux, Hunter LeDoux, Katie LeDoux, Evelyn Broussard, Elliott Broussard, Emmett Broussard, and Evangeline Kekich.
