Robert passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family.

A hardworking and dedicated sugar cane farmer, Robert took great pride in the life he built through years of honest work in the fields. Farming was more than his livelihood—it was his passion. By his side through it all was his beloved wife of 46 years, who could sometimes be found helping him in the fields. Together, they made a wonderful team, sharing not only the work but also a deep and enduring love built on partnership, devotion, and mutual respect.

When he wasn't working, Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He could often be found working through crossword puzzle books or watching his favorite game shows, always enjoying the challenge and the chance to relax after a day's work.

Above all else, Robert cherished his family. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. His love, guidance, and steady presence will remain in their hearts forever.

Robert will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, unwavering dedication to those he loved, and the example he set through a life well lived. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the family he loved so dearly and in the many memories they will treasure for years to come.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Picard Escagne; a daughter, Sherry Escagne Cormier and her husband Clayton; a son, R.J. Escagne; six grandchildren, Braydon, Elizabeth, Alara, Makenzie, Jameison, and Hunter; two sisters, Rita Abshire and Cecile Blanchard and her husband Early; a brother Wilfred Escagne and his wife Bernice; a brother in law, Allen Rodriguez; and a sister in law, Alberta Escagne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Moise and Marie Ella Desormeaux Escagne; a father and mother-in-law, Charles and Irene Picard; a sister, Martha Rodriguez; two brothers, Albert Escagne and Joseph Escagne; and a brother-in-law, Marty Abshire.

Serving as pall bearers will be Larry Escagne, Ricky Escagne, Kage Blanchard, Raymond Escagne, Braydon Escagne, and Alfred Escagne.

Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Anthony Galos, Alvin Escagne, Brian Melancon, Debbie Trahan, and R.J. Escagne.
