New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Rita "Tee-Too" Broussard Quibodeaux, 93, at 2:00PM, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Father Garrett Savoie officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum in New Iberia.
Readings will be read by Jennifer Broussard and Michael Quibodeaux.
Visitation will begin at 4:00PM, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home of New Iberia and continue until 8:00PM. A Recitation of the Rosary will be led by The Men’s Rosary Group, at 6:00PM. Visitation will reopen at 8:00AM, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and continue until the time of service.
Mrs. Rita "Tee-Too" Broussard Quibodeaux, a native of Duson and resident of New Iberia, passed away peacefully at 11:50AM, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Maison Teche Nursing Home. Born to the late Adonis Broussard and Anastaise Trahan Broussard, Rita lived a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and service to others. Rita worked as a hairdresser for many years and was known for her warm spirit and love of bringing people together. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was especially famous for her delicious sugar cookies. Rita enjoyed dancing, playing pokeno, visiting casinos, traveling with her husband Huey, and camping with friends. She also cherished birthday celebrations with her nieces Lou, Net, Millie, and Deb, with her most memorable celebration being the surprise party held in honor of her 80th birthday by family, friends, and classmates. A dedicated volunteer, Rita was a proud member of the R.S.V.P. Retired Senior Volunteer Program for 20 years. She also loved quilting and gifting her handmade quilts to friends and family members. Above all, Rita loved her family.
Mrs. Rita is survived by her son, Michael H. Quibodeaux and his wife Adele of Youngsville, daughter, Bettina Gulotta and her husband Eric Gulotta of Panama City Beach; grandchildren, Chad Quibodeaux and his wife Kali of Avery Island, Blake Quibodeaux and his wife Paige of Bunkie, Jennifer Broussard and her husband Rustin of Youngsville, Ashley Daigle and her husband Tyler of Santa Rosa Beach, Kimberly Berzoza and her husband Luis of Geismar, Brittany Gulotta of Gretna, and Brennan Gulotta of Baton Rouge; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Huey Quibodeaux; son, Philip Quibodeaux; parents, Adonis Broussard and Anastasie Trahan Broussard; brothers, Billeus "Bruce" Broussard, Wilton Broussard, Kosute Broussard; sisters, Amelia Leger, Estelle Dyson, Lelia Viator, and Alicia Girard.
Pallbearers will be Chad Quibodeaux, Blake Quibodeaux, Jace Quibodeaux, Brennan Gulotta, Eric Gulotta, and Rusty Broussard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Luis Berzoza, Rickey Broussard, Tyler Daigle, David LaBiche, Rustin Broussard, and Rodney Girard.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and special thanks to the staff and community at Azalea Estates Assisted Living for the kindness, care, and compassion they showed Mrs. Rita during her years as a resident. Their dedication and support helped make her time there truly wonderful and deeply meaningful to both her and her family.
