A native of Youngsville and resident of Kaplan, Randy Broussard passed away on May 8, 2026, at Ochsner’s Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette.
Randy was a hardworking man. He faced life with strength, determination, and resilience. Randy was tough as nails and never one to complain. He found joy in the simple things he loved most — being outdoors spending time with his family and friends. He deeply loved his children and treasured the memories made on family fishing trips, crabbing adventures, and quiet days hunting or tending to his garden. Randy loved watching old westerns so much he could be snoring, but you better not change the channel because he was “watching that.” He was rarely seen without a cup of coffee nearby and was happiest surrounded by nature and the people he loved. Whether he was doing yard work, growing vegetables, or working in construction, Randy took pride in keeping busy and creating something with his hands.
He was known for his strong opinions, generous heart, and dependable nature. He had a wide variety of nicknames for people. One of his favorite quotes was, "oh that’s all in your head.” He also had a love/hate relationship with pets. Over the years he cared for everything from goats, pigs, chickens, dogs, hunting dogs, and Barbie the horse. Randy was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Randy’s willingness to help others, his unforgettable presence, and daily good morning texts will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family and friends will forever remember his dedication, hardworking spirit, strength, and the many moments shared together enjoying the outdoors and life’s simple blessings.
Randy is survived by children, Randle Broussard, Dustin Broussard, Dean Broussard, Jacqueline Lopez; grandchildren, Everett Broussard, Jaxon Broussard, Camden Broussard, Cullen Broussard, Elianna Broussard, Kylie Burleigh, Mia Gaspard Jude Gaspard, James Dean Broussard, Mason Broussard, Bryton Votaw, Dakota Broussard, Macie Broussard, Rylie Lopez and one brother, David Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Creighton Perot; his father, Wilford Broussard; his stepfather, Raymond Perot; and his granddaughter, Allison Broussard.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ochsner’s Lafayette General Hospital for their kindness and support during this difficult time.
