Listen to Obituary

Peter Kevin Allain, 75, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Kevin was born in Franklin, Louisiana to Alexander Peter Allain and Mathé Allain and grew up on his family's sugar cane farm in Jeanerette, Louisiana. Kevin attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Jeanerette, before attending the University of South Louisiana. Kevin then attended Tulane Law School and practiced law with his father, Alex, in Jeanerette.

Kevin loved gardening and landscaping, and he had a lifelong curiosity about the natural world. At heart, he was an archaeologist and botanist, always interested in discovering, understanding, and appreciating the world around him. Kevin was an avid reader, particularly enjoying science fiction books. He had a discerning palate and a genuine appreciation for good food and good wine. He was a coffee aficionado, with a particular fondness for espresso. Travel was another great passion. He loved seeing the world with his mother and had a special enthusiasm for renting a car and simply driving toward places unknown, discovering new roads, towns, and food along the way. For Kevin, the journey itself was often as meaningful as the destination. Kevin will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his remarkable curiosity, his appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, and his ability to find something interesting wherever he went.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Mathé Allain, his sister, Edmée Allain, his sister-in-law, Lynn Allain, his nephews, Alexander Allain and Aubrey Ladmirault, his niece Sélène Marcello (Mitch), and his great niece, Eloise Marcello.

A memorial will be held at his home on September 19th from 1pm-4pm.
