Paula Cyr Louviere

Jeanerette– Funeral services will be conducted for Paula Louviere, age 75, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at McGowen Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Pugh officiating. Entombment will follow at McGowen Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on December 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

Paula was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and best friend whose warm spirit touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger—her kindness and welcoming nature drew people in effortlessly. Paula cherished time spent at the family retreat in Cypremort Point, where she loved to fish and enjoy the company of the family she adored. A woman of deep faith, she was a steadfast and active member of McGowen Methodist Church, finding joy and purpose in her church community.

Paula and her husband shared a love for traveling and caring for the many animals that brought them happiness throughout the years. She dedicated over 33 years to shaping young minds as a teacher, beginning her career in New Orleans and Thibodaux before retiring from the Iberia Parish School System. Paula’s legacy of love, compassion, and service will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, former students, and all who were blessed to know her.

Paula is survived by her husband, Eldridge Louviere; children, Virginia Viator (Dr. Tim Viator), Raymond Schneider, III, Jamie Davis (Christian), Toni Abursley, Brook Louviere; grandchildren, Alex, Charlie, Max, Chloe, Hunter, Kylie, Mya, Savanah, Brienne, Maddie, Catherine; great-grandchildren, Lyla, Noah; siblings, Sandra Cyr Mestayer (Dr. Ross Mestayer); in-laws, Ronnie (Liz), Farrel (Bobbie), Carolyn (Leo), Charles (Maggie), Max (Debbie); Lollie the puppy; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Raymond Schneider, Jr.; her parents, Charles C., and Leola Riedthaler, and one sibling, Charles “Pic” Cyr, Jr.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Dr. Ross Mestayer, Dr. Tim Viator, Alex Viator, Charlie Viator, Max Viator, and Raymond Schneider, III.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana and their staff for their kindness and support. A very special thanks of appreciation to Jolie Myers, Cynthia Muffolatto, Desiree Sherville, Beverly Viator, April Verret, and Iesha Ayro.
