It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest, Norine Collins, on April 6, 2026, in the early morning hours of her 93rd birthday. She lived a long, fulfilling life, as a devoted wife and matriarch to a large, loving family.
Norine was known for her passion for cooking, coffee, her vast collection of pig decor, and for being a generous host to family and friends. She was energetic, spunky, kind hearted, and loving, with a bright spirit and great sense of humor.
Small in stature but with a relentless determination, at a mighty 4’11”, Norine proudly played point guard for her high school basketball team. Shortly after graduating high school, she met the love of her life, Englove Collins. They were married in the summer of 1952 and went on to have 6 children. They were an equally hard-working and loving couple, owning a seafood docking business that they ran together for many years. Norine took her enthusiasm for cooking and branched it into a side business, selling her most popular dishes, which were treasured amongst family, friends, neighbors, and her many loyal customers. Norine and Englove lived life to the fullest, hosting countless parties which included food, card games, storytelling, music, and dancing, filling their home with immense fun and laughter. Creating memories and being surrounded by family was the greatest joy of Norine’s life.
Whether you called her Mama, Mum, Mother-in-Law, Aunt Norine, Mrs. Collins, or simply Norine, she touched so many lives and was truly adored by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. We are comforted in knowing that she has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband and daughter, along with prematurely departed siblings, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones.
