Nettie Mary Lancon Savoie

New Iberia – Funeral services for Nettie Mary Lancon Savoie will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Courville officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Nicholas Mausoleum.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Frioux-David Funeral Home with a recitation of the rosary at 10:45AM.

A resident of Lydia, Ms. Nettie, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at her residence in Lydia.

Ms. Nettie worked proudly as a bookkeeper for Lapeyrouse Motors for over forty years. She loved her job, and her dedication and loyalty were to be admired.

Ms. Nettie loved to keep her mind and her hands busy, spending endless hours on crossword puzzles, gardening, reading, and assembling puzzles. She had a special love for art and museums. Always with a cup of coffee in hand, she found her peace among her loved ones and her animals.

She is survived by her only daughter, Corinne Savoie; granddaughter, Jade Rushing; a nephew, Carl Meche (Dawn); four nieces, Melanie Meche Robin (Kent), Christine Meche, Lacey Lancon Guidry (Chuck), and Denise Lancon Legnon (Glenn);a maternal aunt, Shirley Fitch Duhon; a niece-in-law, Karen Kirby Meche; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents George and Corinne Broussard Lancon; a brother, Lovelace Lancon; a sister, Joyce Lancon Meche; and two nephews, Blaine Meche and David Meche.

Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 337-369-6336, will be handling the services.
