Mildred Dishongh

Broussard – Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard for Mildred Marie Malick Dishongh, 94 of Lafayette, who passed away in the morning on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at her residence. Father Louie Richard will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in Scared Heart Cemetery.

Born April 18, 1928 in Yoakum, Texas, she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Elizabeth Malick. Mildred was a housewife and mother. She attended daily mass and led the Rosary and the Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help until she became home bound. She was known for her beautiful roses and meticulously hand pruning her shrubbery.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Lynn Dishongh Brant and husband, Robert, of Calabash, NC and son, Burl Edward Dishongh, Jr. and wife, Martha, of Baton Rouge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Burl Edward Dishongh, Sr. and daughter Rita Joyce Dishongh, as well as two brothers and one sister.
