Mary “Beatrice” Gilbert Boudreaux, age 92, entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2026, at her home in Abbeville, Louisiana, following a courageous battle with dementia.
Born on February 15, 1934, to the late Mary O’Brien and Felix Gilbert Sr., Beatrice lived a life rooted in faith, love, and unwavering dedication to her family. On June 1, 1952, she was united in holy matrimony to the late William Boudreaux. Together, they built a loving home and were blessed with eight children—four daughters and four sons.
A woman of strong faith, Beatrice was a devoted member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic minister for many years. She was also a proud member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver, The Ladies of Auxiliary, and she dedicated her time to serving others through volunteer work at the Christian Service Center in her early years.
Beatrice found joy in sewing, gardening, and cooking, but her greatest passion was her family. She was a hardworking and determined woman—an entrepreneur who managed rental properties and approached life with resilience and strength. Despite having only an eighth-grade education, she demonstrated remarkable wisdom and leadership from an early age, helping to care for her younger siblings at just seven years old. Through her example, she instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of faith, perseverance, kindness, and the importance of family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary O’Brien and Felix Gilbert Sr.; her beloved husband, William Boudreaux; her brothers, Clarence Greene, Edward Greene, Austin Greene, Lodgie Gilbert, and Felix Gilbert Jr.; her sisters, Della Greene, Mary Hilda Guidry, Mary Lena Viltz, and Joyce Richard; her children, Pearlena Boudreaux, Patricia Guidry, Andrea Boudreaux, and William “Patrick” Boudreaux; her granddaughter, Natasha Augustine; and her daughter-in-law, Melody Boudreaux.
She leaves to cherish the precious memories of her loving children: Paula Boudreaux of Abbeville, Louisiana, who devoted her life to caring for her mother; Harry Boudreaux (DeEdria) of Abbeville, Louisiana; Felix Boudreaux of Abbeville, Louisiana; and Bruse Boudreaux (Lisa) of Pearland, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Marcus Briggs; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Parsons Boudreaux; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Active Pallbearers; Joshua Boudreaux, Azaylon Boudreaux, Justin O’Brien, Jonas Johnny, Lewis Briggs Jr., Felix Tremel Boudreaux.
Honorary Pallbearers; Harry Boudreaux, Felix Boudreaux, Bruse Boudreaux, Johnny Gilbert, Tonie Greene, Everette Boutte, Ralph Hutchinson, Benjamin Janice, Lloyd Bessar.
