Marie Joyce Bourque Brasher

Rayne ~ Funeral Services for Ms. Marie Joyce Bourque Brasher, 84, will be held at 2:00PM, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Milton. 

Visitation will begin at 9:00AM, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette and continue until the time of service. A Recitation of the Rosary will be led by Angie Meche at 12:00PM.

Ms. Marie Joyce Bourque Brasher passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11:20AM. She was born and raised in Youngsville, LA. She lived in Rayne, LA for ten years until her death.

Ms. Marie Joyce Bourque Brasher is survived by two sons, John Richard Bourque and his wife Carla of Boise, ID, and Joseph Woodley Bourque, Jr. and his wife Launah of Dayton, TX; three daughters, Molly Pellissier and her husband James of Rayne, Deanna Castille of Parks, and Deloris Bourque of Rayne; one son-in-law, Johnny Guilbeau of Rayne; one brother, Martin Trahan, Jr. and his wife Mary of Youngsville; one sister, Charlene Broussard of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin Trahan, Sr. and Anna Mae Romero Broussard; the father of her children, Joseph Woodley Bourque, Sr.; her second husband, Francis Brasher; one daughter, Melinda B. Guilbeau; one granddaughter, Rachelle Simpson; one brother, Raymond Trahan; three nephews, Michael Trahan, Patrick Trahan, and Byron Trahan; two son-in-laws, Charles W. "Boo Lefluer" Perconti and Ernie Castille.

Pallbearers will be Jason Bourque, Johnathon Bourque, Jordan Bourque, James Gruff, Devin Guidry, and Joseph Woodley Bourque, III.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Richard Bourque, Joseph Woodley Bourque, Jr., and Martin Trahan, Jr.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially Marie's nurse, Karen Guidry.
