Margaret Racca Lavergne

Lafayette – Funeral Services for Margaret Racca Lavergne, 97, will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette with Deacon Tim Marcantel officiating. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin at 9:00AM on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette with a recitation of the rosary at 10:00AM by Deacon Tim Marcantel. 

Margaret Lavergne was a woman with a big heart and a happy soul. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcome and loved. Margaret adored children, loved to laugh, and never met a stranger. Her generosity and kind spirit touched the lives of anyone blessed to meet her throughout her lifetime.

She worked hard her entire life and took great pride in caring for her family and those she loved. Alongside her late husband, Margaret was blessed with ten children, who were the center of her world and a lasting testament to the devotion she gave so freely.

Margaret will be remembered for her laughter, her warmth, her generosity, and the joy she brought with her wherever she went. Her loving spirit will live on in the hearts of her children, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Lavergne, Kenneth Lavergne, and Rodney Lavergne (Danielle); six daughters, Patricia Butaud, Barbara Trahan (Harry), Phyllis Lavergne, Julia Lavergne, Lona Faye Lavergne, and Melissa Lavergne; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia Broussard, Rose Trahan, Betty Crenshaw, and Lucille Brashur.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clovernice Lavergne; her son, Glenn Lavergne; her parents, Hebert and Leila Roger Racca.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, Joshua Broussard, Matthew Mulluhour, Joshua Martin, John Trahan, Bradley Arceneaux, and Dylan Thomas.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Scottie Benoit.

Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337) 837-9887 will be in charge of the arrangements.
