New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Linda Oubre LeJeune will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Rev. John Dugas officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Thursday, July 17, 2025 beginning at 8:30AM until the time of the services with a recitation of the rosary at 11:00AM.
Linda Oubre LeJeune passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, with her children by her side. Born on December 1, 1930, Linda was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, and a beacon of strength to all who knew her.In 1956, Linda married Robert “Gil” LeJeune, and together they built a life filled with love and memories until his passing in 2009. Their 53-year marriage was a true testament to enduring devotion and commitment.“Linda Rita” approached life with a balance of wit and wisdom. Her positive spirit and steady presence brought warmth and joy to everyone around her. Her love of reading reflected her keen intellect and was a source of personal joy.A dedicated professional, Linda spent most of her career in banking, enjoying many of those years alongside her son Kenny. Her dedication and passion for her work kept her active and engaged just months before her passing.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her six children: Christy LeJeune (spouse Marcia Guest), Cindy LeJeune, Marty LeJeune (wife Rachele), Kenny LeJeune (wife Ronnie), Wendy LeJeune Blewett, and Bobby Gil LeJeune (wife Debbie). Her seven grandchildren—Sarah Provost, Jessica Naquin, Zack LeJeune, Brodie LeJeune, Linzee Burch, Grace Blewett, and Hallie Polanco—as well as her twelve great-grandchildren, will carry forward her spirit and cherished memories. Linda will be deeply missed by her family and all whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gil LeJeune; her parents Ovide and Linda Verret Oubre; her brother, Gerald Oubre; her sisters, Hazel Cestia and Lorraine Jackson; and her son-in-law, Moss “Evan” Blewett.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marty LeJeune, Kenny LeJeune, Brodie LeJeune, Zack LeJeune, Bailey Provost, and Aaron Naquin.
