A native of Abbeville and lifelong resident of Erath, Lilly D. Comeaux was born September 4, 1927, to Fernance and Sadia Dore’ Desormeaux.
Lilly was a devoted mother, grandmother, godmother, and cherished best friend whose love and strength formed the foundation of her family. She was the mainstay and the rock that everyone could depend on, always offering wisdom, comfort, and unwavering support. Lilly treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones, creating lasting memories through laughter, conversation, and the warmth of her presence. One of her greatest joys was gathering around the card table with family and friends. She never turned down a good card game, knowing that the time spent together was just as meaningful as the game itself.
Known for her compassionate heart, Lilly was a true caregiver who selflessly cared for anyone who was ill or in need of comfort. She worked in the public eye with quiet humility, never seeking recognition for the kindness she freely gave. Her generous spirit extended beyond her family, as she was an exceptional cook who delighted in sharing meals with others, especially those who had less than she did. Lilly's legacy is one of love, generosity, faith, and service. She leaves behind a family and community forever grateful for the countless lives she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.
Lilly is survived by her children, Linda Peltier, Kathy Frederick, Timothy Trahan (Robby); her grandchildren, Sean Peltier, Chett Peltier, Brett Broussard, Tressa Broussard, Roderick Bowen, Krista Bowen, Brooke Hebert, Danielle Greene, Blaise Trahan, 25 great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, and one sister, Dossie Darby.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Feo Trahan, Lloyd Comeaux; children, Roderick Trahan, Cheryl Vidallia; one grandson, Brock Bowen, and 12 siblings.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Blaise Trahan, Timothy Trahan, Keith Hebert, Chett Peltier, Sean Peltier, and Jonah Peltier.
The family would like to thank the staff of Maison du Monde, Hospice of Acadiana, and a very special thank you her godchild, Patricia Trahan for all the support and kindness they showed toward Lilly.
