Lawrence Romero, Jr.

New Iberia–A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Lawrence Romero, Jr. age 86, on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Nativity of Our Lady with Fr. Ed Degeyter as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed prior to the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Lawrence Romero, Jr. passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Iberia Medical Center.

Lawrence was a local business owner for over 20 years, building the business alongside his wife and three children. His dedication was unmistakable, and it was clear that his true passion in life was his work.

Lawrence is survived by his children, Norma R. Hargrave, Keith James Romero (Michelle), and Kim Lee Romero; grandchildren, Tiesha Babineaux (Bubba), Brittany Shockley (Garrett); great-grandchildren, Bailee Babineaux, Emily Babineaux, Maverick Shockley, Evelie Shockley; siblings, Joy Borel, Catherine Trahan, Sonny Romero, Ronnie Romero (Sherry), and Kenneth Romero.

He was preceded in death by wife, Emily G. Judice; parents, Lawernce Sr., and Angel M. Latiolais; grandson, Brandon Thibodeaux, and a brother, Mosie Romero.
