Lafayette – Funeral Services for Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Allen Cox, will be held at 2:00PM, on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette, with Rev. Laurent De Prins officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park and Cemetery in Opelousas.
Visitation will begin at 4:00PM, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Lafayette and continue until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume at 8:00am, on Monday, October 27, 2025, and continue until the time of service.
Lawrence “Larry” Allen Cox, a resident of Broussard, Louisiana, since 2011, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in Houston, Texas, on April 14, 1958, Larry was raised in Crowley, Louisiana, where he graduated from Crowley High School in 1977. After graduation, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana—now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette—and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Larry spent most of his professional life in the oil and gas industry. In retirement, he enjoyed fixing things and was the photographer for BY Local News, a role he loved for the connections it brought him to his community. Larry met the love of his life, Karen Lagrange Cox, in 2011, and the two were married a year later. Their bond was immediate and enduring. Together, they were active members of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Lafayette, where Larry served faithfully as an usher.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Allen Vernon Vaught; his mother, Joan Steinmann; his stepfather, Edward Cox; and his sister, Catharine Vaught Steinmann.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen; his children, Colleen Cox (Justin Reinhardt) and Nash Cox; his stepchildren, Christopher Wyble, Alison Higginbotham, and Dustin Higginbotham; his beloved granddaughter, Morgan Reinhardt; and his step-grandchildren, Jack and Maeve Higginbotham; his sisters, Mary McConnell and Myra Malagarie (Robert), two nephews Ryan McConnell and Matthew Malagarie, and one niece Ellen Malagarie.
Larry will be remembered for his warmth, his quiet generosity, and his dedication to both family and faith. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service that touched many lives.
