Laurence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys of the outdoors. She passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, generosity, and unforgettable meals shared around the table.
Laurence had a deep love for nature and the water. She found her greatest happiness camping, shrimping, fishing, and crabbing—activities that reflected her patience, resilience, and appreciation for God’s creation. She also loved traveling, always eager to explore new places while cherishing time spent with those she loved.
A devout Catholic, Laurence’s faith guided her throughout her life. She lived her beliefs through kindness, service, and unwavering love for her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply and spoke of with pride and affection. Time spent with them was among her most treasured blessings.
Laurence was also a remarkable cook, known especially for her fried chicken, fried shrimp, gumbo, and other Cajun dishes that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort, where everyone felt welcome and well-fed.
Laurence will be remembered for her strong faith, her love of the outdoors, her adventurous spirit, and her nurturing heart. She leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in the stories shared, the recipes passed down, and the love she gave so freely.
She is survived by daughters, Natalie Lovett (Kenneth), Nancy Tardiff, and Nanette Talbot; four grandchildren, Melissa Regan (Jeff), Erin Talbot Hunt (Jeremy), Caroline Welty (Ryan), and Kristy Tardiff Mire (Nate); twelve great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Robbie Landry; and a sister, Elaine Leblanc.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dickie” Landry; two children, Nathan Landry and Neal Landry; a grandchild, Lindsey Tardiff; and her parents, Feliciana and Lillian Toups Champagne.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to her sitters, Mary Breaux, Sandy Cobb, and Janet Hollier for the exceptional comfort, compassion and dedication they brought to Mrs. Laurence and her family while in their care.
