Kathryn, affectionately known as Katie, was a devoted daughter, a loyal sister, and a cherished wife and mother. She was truly one of a kind. Katie was a rare mix of feisty, sharp wit and a really big heart. Katie’s love was constant and she had her own special ways of showing that love to the people who meant the most to her.
Katie’s greatest joy was her family. Family was at the heart of everything she did. She was the best aunt to her nieces and nephews and above all, she was the best mother to her son, Chandler. Katie devoted herself to giving him the best childhood. Katie truly went above and beyond to give him every ounce of her love. It was just her way. She poured her love into every gift, celebration and holiday making sure that he knew just how much she loved him.
The care she gave her mother during illness was also a true testament of her love. She stepped into that role with such devotion. Though she is no longer with us in person, Katie’s love remains. We will forever carry her memory in our hearts.
Katie is survived by her husband, Chad Brasseaux of Jeanerette; her son, Chandler Brasseaux of Jeanerette; her father, Rickey Buteau, Sr. of Jeanerette; her siblings, Amanda LeJeune and her husband Denny of Jeanerette, and Rickey Buteau, Jr. of Jeanerette; her nieces and nephews, Madison Switzer, Jasmine LeJeune, Addison LeJeune, Andre' LeJeune, Ri' Kalyn Buteau, Rebecca Knighten, Destine Knighten, and Zachary Brasseaux; her mother-in-law, Iva Willingham; and her sister-in-law, Wendy Landry.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Moresi Buteau, as well as her paternal grandparents, Edwin Buteau Sr. and Marion Legnon Buteau, and her maternal grandparents, George P. Moresi Sr. and Geraldine Daigle Moresi.
