Abbeville ~ Funeral Services for Mrs. Kathleen Guidry Broussard will be held at 1:00PM, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Abbeville. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9:30AM, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of Abbeville and continue until the time of service.

Mrs. Kathleen Guidry Broussard, aged 70, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in her home in Abbeville, Louisiana. She was born on July 8, 1954, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Milton and Joyce Guidry. She had two brothers, Clovis and Milton Jr. Kathleen was a proud resident of Abbeville and a graduate of Northside High School in Lafayette, where she met the love of her life, Wayne Broussard. They were married on March 9, 1972. After graduating from nursing school, Kathleen worked as a nurse in a nursing home, where she especially loved speaking Cajun French with her residents. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling anywhere she could. Her greatest passion, however, was her family. She was always giving and was never happier than when she had her three sons together—a moment she fondly called her “Red Letter Day!”

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Broussard; her three sons, Marcus, Jonathon, and Matthew Broussard; and her brother, Milton Guidry Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved daughters-in-law, Nora Broussard, Sandy Hoard, and Mary Hanisee. The apples of her eye were her grandchildren: Jimmy, Nicholas, Kevin, and Ella Broussard. Kathleen will continue to live on in the hearts of the many people she touched throughout her life.

Pallbearers will be her three sons and three grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaylum Hanks and Sidney J. Forestier.
