A native of Abbeville, and resident of Cleveland Heights, OH, Katherine Motty Logan Camin passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Cleveland, OH.

Katherine "Kate" M. Logan Camin will be remembered as a woman whose kindness, adventurous spirit, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Following her graduation from Mount Carmel High School in Abbeville, LA, Kate pursued higher education with determination and a lifelong commitment to learning. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) from 1967 to 1969, where she earned 66 credit hours, she continued her education at Louisiana State University of New Orleans from 1970 to 1971, and she earned 23 hours pursuing studies in sciences. She continued her education at Louisiana State University of New Orleans from 1970 to 1971, and she earned 23 hours pursuing studies in Science. In 2002 at Cuyahoga Community College, where she earned her certification as a Pharmacy Technician.

Never one to stop learning, Katherine retuned to the classroom in 2003, she enrolled again in Cuyahoga Community College earning 102 additional hours in the sciences where she was able to combine her USL hours and LSU New Orleans hours to receive her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 2005.

In 1978, Katherine discovered a passion that would shape the rest of her professional life—the world of travel. Inspired by the joy of helping others explore new places and creating lasting memories, she turned that passion into a successful career. In 1987, she founded River Oaks Travel, Inc., serving as its Owner and President for 20 years. Through her dedication, expertise, and warm personality, she built lasting relationships with clients who became lifelong friends.

Known affectionately by many as "The Cajun Lady," Kate had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. She never met a stranger and had a way of brightening the lives of everyone she encountered with her warmth, humor, and genuine compassion.

Even during her own health journey, Kate continued to think of others first. At the Seidman Cancer Center, she became well known for carrying candy wherever she went, sharing treats with everyone she met—from the valet attendants who greeted her upon arrival to the nurses, staff, and caregivers who supported her with such compassion. Her small but thoughtful gesture brought smiles, started conversations, and reminded others that even the simplest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

In Kate’s last days her sense of humor brought smiles and laughter from her doctors and nurses. Upon entering her hospital room, she let all the doctors and nurses know that she was “FRAGILE”, making them aware to be gentle and kind to her both physically and mentally. When asked if they could get anything for her, she would respond “A NEW BODY”.

Katherine's legacy is one of generosity, resilience, friendship, and joy. She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments and entrepreneurial spirit but also for the countless lives she touched through her kindness, her infectious smile, and her unwavering belief that every person deserved to be seen, appreciated, and cared for. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know and love her.
