Juanita was a woman whose warmth, humor, and love touched everyone who knew her. She had an incredible zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures—good food, great company, and time spent with those she loved most. A true food enthusiast, she especially delighted in pasta, bread, and sharing meals that brought her family and friends together.

She cherished her time at the gym, where her circle of friends became like a second family. Always smiling and encouraging others, Juanita brought energy and laughter to every workout. But it was her family who were the light of her life. She loved every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Some of her happiest days were family trips, where her laughter filled every room and her joy was infectious. At home, she found peace watching the birds and cows from the patio. She found quiet joy in her diamond art projects, beautiful pink and black roses, and her favorite shows, Blue Bloods and Chicago Fire always gave her something to look forward to.

Her children will never forget her signature phrase, lovingly etched in their memories: “Listen here, Buddy Boy!” spoken whenever mischief was afoot.

Juanita was a respected, caring, and deeply loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Reaching great-great grandmother status brought her much joy, as her family was her world. Her kindness, humor, and spirit of adventure will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

She is survived by her three children, Terry DeJean and his wife Lynnette, Terrill Racca and her husband Carroll, and Jason DeJean and his wife Jami; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Percy DeJean; her parents, Edwin and Cecile Broussard Hebert; two sisters, Patricia Hebert, and Mae Baldridge; and a brother, Jerry Hebert.

Serving as pall bearers will be Richard Hebert, Ethan Boone, Jason Glenn, Chris Lockridge, Phillip Olivier, and Terry Dale DeJean.

Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Shane Hebert, Matt Costlo, and Jacob Lombas.

Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337) 837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
