New Iberia – A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at a later date for Ms. Joycelyn Gwen Touchard, age 67, who passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Joycelyn was a woman of remarkable charm and contrast—both sweet and spirited, with a personality that could effortlessly blend warmth with a touch of spice. She carried herself with a vibrant energy that left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A devoted “fur mom,” Joycelyn found immense joy in caring for her beloved fur babies. She delighted in spoiling them, not only with affection but with thoughtfully prepared, decadent meals that reflected the depth of her love. Her home was filled with the kind of tenderness and devotion that made it a haven for her cherished companions. Joycelyn was also an enthusiastic sports fan. She proudly supported the Texas Rangers, cheered enthusiastically for NASCAR—especially her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, whose memorabilia she collected with pride—and remained a loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints. These passions brought her excitement and connection, and she enjoyed sharing them with others. Above all, Joycelyn deeply loved her beloved partner, Steven, who was not only her partner but her very best friend. Their bond was rooted in mutual care, laughter, and appreciation. She especially treasured the way he spoiled her with authentic, home-cooked meals, each one so delicious that she could never choose a favorite. Their relationship was a beautiful example of love, companionship, and shared joy. Joycelyn will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her loving heart, and the unique blend of sweetness and strength that defined her life. She leaves behind memories that will be cherished always by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by the love of her life, Steven Bonin; two sons, Anthony “Tony” Duhon and his wife Jessica, and Roy “T-Roy” Beaudeaux and his wife Alicia; one daughter, Tara Beaudeaux; three siblings, Shannon Wilkinson, Nannette Gauchat, and and Raymond "Buddy" Courville; seven grandchildren; and two fur babies, Patches and Lottie.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Bryan; three sisters, Peggy Guidry, Darlene Meyers, and Raymona Courville; and three fur babies, Velvet, Dutchess, and Fancy.
Frioux Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, will be handling the arrangements. (337) 369-6336
