Joseph Clifford Naquin, Jr. December 21, 1950 – November 30, 2025
“A Celebration of Life in loving memory of Joseph Clifford Naquin, Jr., whose light continues to shine in our hearts.”
Forever remembered, forever cherished. Joseph, lovingly known as J.C. to most, and affectionately called “Brother” or “Uncle Brother” by his family, was born on December 21, 1950, in Franklin, Louisiana, to Joseph Clifford Naquin, Sr. and Josephine M. Hollier. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, and now rests in the arms of Jesus.
He leaves behind his devoted wife and soulmate, Yolanda (Yolly) Naquin, who lovingly called him “Bebe Ko.” To her, he was not only a husband, but also, her best friend, her partner, and her “Everything.” J.C. is also survived by his children: Luis Gutierrez, Joseph Naquin, John Naquin, Christine Naquin, and Roxanne Gutierrez; his siblings: Patricia Rainwater (married to the late Tony Rainwater) and Suelyn Fremin (married to Jay Fremin).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Naquin, Sr. and Josephine Hollier, and his sister, Jo Ann Broussard.
His legacy continues through his five beloved grandchildren: Jordy Viator, Mason Gutierrez, Zane Gutierrez, Alyssa Naquin, John Paul Naquin, Jr., and Gabrielle Bailey. J.C. proudly served his country in the Army National Guard from 1970–1976. His career was spent largely offshore in the Gulf of Mexico as a Crane Operator. He also gave back to his community as a Volunteer Firefighter, worked as a welder and safety man at a shipyard in New Iberia, and later retired as a Merchant Mariner Liftboat Captain. Beyond his work, J.C. found joy in music—especially playing the guitar and listening to his favorite artist, Bob Seger. He loved riding his motorcycle, traveling, and woodworking. J.C. was the one everyone could count on. Always ready, willing, and able, he was the person to call in times of need—a true pillar of strength, generosity, and love.
Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
