New Iberia – Funeral Services for Jody Louviere, 38, will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12:00PM until the time of services.
Jody lived his life with a full heart, a big laugh, and a gift for bringing people together. If there was a pot on the stove or smoke rising from a grill, you could bet he was nearby. He could smother just about anything and turn it into a meal worth remembering, and he loved cooking for BBQs and fish fries where family and friends gathered, ate well, and left smiling.
Jody had a laugh that filled a room and a sense of humor that could lift anyone’s spirits. He was silly, goofy, and wonderfully unfiltered in the best ways. Making people laugh came naturally to him, and he shared that joy freely.
He had a soft spot for his dogs, who were never far from his side. When he wasn’t cooking or cracking jokes, he could often be found outdoors hunting or fishing.
He also had a creative streak, often doodling or drawing whenever inspiration struck. Kids adored him, and he had a way of making them feel seen, heard, and entertained.
Jody leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, good food, and unforgettable memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the stories he inspired and the joy he spread will live on.
He is survived by his mother, Roxanna Poinboeuf (Gregory); his father, Lee Louviere (Crystal); his grandparents, Dianna and Bob Bonvillian; his brother, Jason Freeze (Lexi); four nieces; a great nephew; many godchildren; his cousins who were as close as siblings; a beloved and respected uncle, Mitchell Louviere (Kimberly); two well loved dogs; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Joyce Landry; his grandfathers, Forris Freeze, Jr. and Leo Louviere; and a dear friend, Hunter Rebert.
Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 337-369-6336, will be handling the arrangements.
