New Iberia- Memorial Services for Mrs. Joan Riley, 95, will be held at Frioux Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00AM with Deacon Chris Doumit officiating.

Visitation will be held at Frioux Funeral Home Chapel of New Iberia on Friday, August 21, 21026 at 10:00AM until time of services.

Mrs. Joan Riley passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, surrounded by family and friends at her residence in New Iberia, Louisiana.

Joan was born in Cushing, Oklahoma, and was a proud graduate of Cushing High School. She cherished her Oklahoma roots and made every effort to attend her high school reunions whenever possible, maintaining treasured friendships and memories throughout the years.

On March 17, 1951, Joan married the love of her life, Henry Riley. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, adventure, and countless memories. Henry worked for CONOCO, and his career took their family to seven different countries. He often told Joan that he would make the living if she would make the home and she did exactly that.

Whether living in the heart of a jungle in portable trailers or in unforgettable places such as England, Scotland, and Dubai, Joan had a special gift for making every place feel like home. Wherever life took them, she created a warm and loving home filled with laughter, family, traditions, and adventures.

Joan took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the keeper of family traditions and memories, carefully assembling yearly scrapbooks with love and attention to detail so that generations of her family could look back and remember the moments they shared. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

A woman with a generous heart, Joan believed in giving back to her community. She volunteered with the Eastern Stars and served as a tour guide for Shadows on the Teche. She also gave her time to Chez Hope, Inc., as well as to every school her children and grandchildren attended. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and make a difference in the lives of others.

Joan enjoyed taking cruises, shopping, going to the beach, helping others, and, above all, spending time with her family. She had a lifelong love of dogs and always had a beloved dog by her side.

Joan will be remembered as a giving, loving, and generous woman whose greatest legacy was the love she poured into her family and the beautiful memories she created wherever she went. Her warmth, kindness, devotion, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will forever be grateful for the love, traditions, and adventures she gave them.

She is survived by her grandchild, Summer Fitch Jamieson of New Iberia; her great- grandchildren, Jordan Riley Delahoussaye of New Iberia, Britni Dore of New Iberia, Nikki Dore of New Iberia, Mattie Mason and her husband Colby of New Iberia, Seth Jamieson of Patoutville; and Sami Jo Jamieson of Patoutville; her great-great- grandchildren, Jett Delahoussaye of New Iberia, Nolan Dore of Lafayette, T J Dupuis of South Carolina, Jayce Dupuis of New Roads, Gianna Cusimano of Metairie, and Jaxx Dore of New Iberia; and her Family Friend, Cherrise Picard of Franklin.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Riley; her daughter, Sami Jan Riley; her granddaughter, Michele Dore; and her great-granddaughter, Katelyn Dore.
