Mr. Hubert Paul Landry, Sr., a lifelong resident of Loreauville, Louisiana, was born on March 2, 1961, and passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Deeply rooted in the community he loved, Hubert lived a life shaped by the land, his family, and an unmatched work ethic that defined him from an early age. A proud sugarcane farmer, Hubert found his truest joy beneath open skies, surrounded by the fields that were both his livelihood and his sanctuary. He possessed a natural gift for understanding how things worked; whether taking equipment apart, piecing it back together, or inventing new solutions to everyday challenges. Resourceful and mechanically minded, he could make just about anything last, stretching the life of every tool, tractor, and part long past expectation. But nothing brought him more peace than the steady hum of his tractor. In that seat; quiet, free, and surrounded by the land he cherished; Hubert was completely at ease. Though farming was in his blood, Hubert’s life took him down many paths. He spent years working in the trucking industry and also served as a boat captain, experiences that broadened his skills and strengthened his already deep sense of determination. Ultimately, he was drawn back home to the sugarcane fields, returning to the work that fulfilled him most. Hubert married the love of his life in 1983, and together they built a home filled with devotion, resilience, and strong family bonds. To Hubert, family was everything. No matter how long the day or how demanding the season, he always made time for the people he loved most. His dry sense of humor and quick wit were constants; subtle, sharp, and always perfectly timed. Hardworking, inventive, curious, and unquestionably frugal, Hubert had a way of turning challenges into opportunities and ordinary moments into lasting memories. His life was one of quiet strength, steady dedication, and steadfast love. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in family, faith, and the land he proudly cared for; a legacy that will live on in the fields he cultivated, the work he accomplished, and the hearts of all who knew him.
