Gwendolyn Ann Myers

New Iberia–Funeral services will be conducted for Gwen A. Myers, age 79, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Frioux-David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Keith Duhon officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

A resident of New Iberia, Gwen passed away on January 31, 2026 at Landmark of Acadiana.

Gwen had a special and devoted love for her family, especially her daughters, granddaughters, son-in-laws, and grandson-in-law who brought her immense pride and joy. In her quiet moments, she found comfort in the simple things she loved most—reading a good book, watching the Hallmark Channel and cooking shows, and enjoying her favorite sweet treats. Gwen’s gentle spirit and caring heart were felt by all who knew her.

She was married to Russell, the love of her life. They were married for 44 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family, raising two beautiful daughters and cherishing their wonderful granddaughters. Gwen’s legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the family she held so close to her heart.

Gwen is survived by two daughters, Michelle M. Babineaux (Robert), Stacey R. Simon (Chad); three granddaughters, Alex Trahan (Brennan), Millie Simon, Zoe Simon; and awaiting the arrival of her first great-granddaughter, Quinn Trahan, and two sisters, Jocelyn Dautreuil, and Marilyn Burley (Dean).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Russell J. Myers; parents, Beldon and Mildred Rawlins Chauvin; one sister, Lori Aucoin, and brother-in-laws, Russell “Rusty” Dautreuil, and Bryan “Bubba” Aucoin.
