Gloria’s greatest joy was time spent with her children, grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Known as “Maw Glo” by everyone, she will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and gentle nature. Maw Glo cherished every minute of love and laughter with her grandchildren; Heather Romero (Chase Nunez), Ryan Romero (Gabby), Cindi Richard (Lynn), Dustin LeMaire, Emma LeMaire (Lexie), Evan LeMaire, Rosella Deville (Steven), Gabriella LeMaire and Preston LeMaire Jr.
Gloria had a wonderful sense of adventure and a passion for travel. She loved exploring new places with her husband, Ellis, and dear friends through Vermilion Cajun Tours. Some of her favorite destinations included Nova Scotia, British Columbia Canada, Niagara Falls, Alaska, Vancouver and Branson Missouri. She also enjoyed a family cruise to the Bahamas. In addition to Disney World, one of Maw Glo’s most memorable adventures was her trip to Toledo Bend where she caught a fish on her one and only fishing trip of her lifetime, which she recalled with such excitement!
When she wasn’t traveling the USA, Gloria’s hobby was quilting. She took great pride in the several quilts she hand-stitched for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gloria also loved having her sister, Mary, come over for sleep overs. The two would run the town, trying out new restaurants and go shopping. Mary recalls Gloria’s loving, caring and strong-willed mannerism. They were always there for each other when they needed someone to talk to.
