New Iberia – Funeral Services for Georgie “Jo” Guidry, 97, will be held at 2:30PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home of New Iberia with Deacon Durk Viator officiating. Private interment will follow.

Visitation will begin at 10:00AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Frioux Funeral Home until the time of services.

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Jo Guidry, a remarkable woman whose greatest joy was her family. She filled her home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures – listening to music, dancing, and spending afternoons on her porch swing surrounded by those she loved.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Guidry and Anita Bellinger and her husband John; a son, Myles Guidry; three grandchildren, Mitch Lustman, Jennifer Smith, and Mike Guidry; and her treasured great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her extended family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Guidry; her parents, Amilcar and Maria Bijeaux Champagne; and a son, Glen Guidry.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Janice Dewey and Mary Christian, whose kindness, compassion, and loving care brought comfort and joy to her life. Their friendship and unwavering support will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on in all who knew her. Her memory will forever be a blessing.
