A native of Forked Island and a resident of New Iberia, Eva Touchet Delcambre passed away at 12:55AM on March 25, 2026, at Landmark of Acadiana. Eva touched many lives through her music and her unwavering faith. A talented musician, Eva played guitar, bass, and sang alongside her brothers in the Cajun French band, “Eva, the Touchet Brothers and the Midnight Ramblers”- even being inducted into the Erath Cajun Music Hall of Fame. For over thirty years, she lovingly handcrafted rosaries, each one a reflection of her steady devotion and faith. At home, she found her greatest comfort with her family’s loving Maltipoo, Miranda “Randi” Elizabeth, who was rarely far from her side when visiting. She will be remembered for the lives she brightened and the love she so freely gave to family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Comeaux and his wife Carol, and Eric “Peanut” Comeaux and his wife Rae; eight grandchildren, Karlie Dartez and her husband Joshua, Sean Comeaux and his wife Kori, Erica Comeaux, Cody Comeaux, Jordy Comeaux, Hope Haddad and her husband Joshua, Meghan Melancon, and Austin Melancon; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Delcambre; a son, Carroll Comeaux; her parents, Euphemon and Celestine Suire Touchet; and eleven siblings, Icay Touchet, Iday Touchet, Willis Touchet, Arconage Touchet, Ediu Touchet, Olin Conner, Elier Touchet, Avenia Melancon, Avita Touchet, Avelia Touchet, Lilly Touchet, and Edia LaBove.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Dartez, Sean Comeaux, Kyle Stevens, Ken Breaux, Alexis Mallet, Jr., and Harold Lopez.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Austin LaBove, Mark Touchet, David Breaux, and Raymond Melancon.
The family would like to thank Landmark of Acadiana, Hope Hospice, and her caregiver, Michelle Hillier for all the dedication and support they showed Eva.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Angel Paws Adoption Center and Catholic High School of New Iberia.
