Heaven welcomed home our beloved Engma “Emma.”
A native of Belize, Central America and a longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Lima died at 5:57AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at her home surrounded by her devoted family.
Emma was a devoted, faith-filled woman of God, a committed Pentecostal Christian who gave her life to Christ many years ago and walked faithfully with Him every day. Her relationship with God was the foundation of who she was. She trusted the Lord completely, leaned on prayer in every season, and lived her faith through love, humility, and service to others.
Emma always put others before herself. Her soul was gentle, patient, and kind. Through her life, she showed us what Christ-like love truly looks like, what patience really is, what kindness means, what faith sustains, and what quiet strength can carry.
She deeply loved her husband, Julio, lovingly calling him “Mong” and she cherished her children, Ronaldo “Dito,” Josue, Emily, and Vicky, with a mother’s unconditional love. Her heart overflowed with joy when it came to her grandchildren, Sofia and Ronaldo “Naldo,” who were truly the apples of her eye.
Emma loved her mother, Vilma, dearly, always calling her “mamita linda,” and honoring her with tenderness, respect, and constant prayer. She loved her brothers, Gerardo and Elder, and shared a close and special bond with her sisters, Mirsa and Flori. Faithfully, every morning in the early hours, Emma sent prayers, love, and encouragement, keeping her family connected through her steady presence and unwavering faith.
To those who knew her best, Emma was joyful and warm. She loved a good laugh, peaceful walks, and most of all, being fully present with people. When she spoke with you, she gave you her undivided attention and made you feel truly seen and cared for.
Emma lived with grace and finished her race in faith.
We will miss her deeply, her prayers, her voice, her guidance, and her loving presence. Though our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.” - Psalm 23
Until we meet again, Emma. You are forever loved and forever missed.
