Elvera Vantassell

Lafayette- Memorial Services for Ms. Elvera VanTassell, 39, will be held at a later date.

A resident of Ville Platte, Ms. Elvera passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She loved animals, especially dogs, playing games, and driving. She was a very independent woman.

She is survived by her fiancé Shermain Arvie of Ville Platte; her children, Katie Elizabeth Fontenot and David Joseph Fontenot of Ville Platte; her brothers, Leonardo “T-Boy” Meaux of Scott, Rudy Milligan of Abbeville, and Shawn VanTassell of Ohio; her sisters, Mary Menard of Lafayette, Dana Doucet of Abbeville, Acacia Scheck of Abbeville, Ria Porier of Parks, and Heather Croft of Lafayette; her uncle, Tommy Cox of Cecilia; her aunts, Clara Bernadine Meaux, and Linda Meaux of Dallas, TX; her aunt-in-law, Dorthey West Youngsville; her numerous nieces and nephews; and long life friend Corrie Lambert.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Meaux and Rudolph VanTassell; her brother, Joshua VanTassell; her grandmother Mary Lou Richard Meaux; her grandfather Thomas Meaux.; and her uncles James West Meaux, Glenn Cox Meaux, and Daniel Reed Meaux.
