Elta Dubois Stelly

Abbeville ~ A Graveside Service will be held for Mrs. Elta Dubois Stelly, 97, at 10:00AM, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville with Deacon Tim Marcantel officiating.

Mrs. Elta Dubois Stelly was born on January 7, 1928, and passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially loved drinking coffee surrounded by family and friends, sharing stories from the good old days, and creating new memories with loved ones. Elta also enjoyed quilting, sewing, and reading. Her favorite color was blue, and she had a deep appreciation for all kinds of flowers, especially roses. She had a special fondness for four-leaf clovers and was a true expert at spotting them. Mrs. Elta lived a beautiful life that she built with her devoted husband of over fifty years. Together, they cherished their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always delighting in the time they spent playing and laughing with them.

Mrs. Elta Dubois Stelly is survived by her son, Keith Stelly and his fiancé Susan; two daughters, Debra Hafemann and her husband Mark, and Shirley Mae Stelly; five grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Snow, Aaron Lee Harbison and his fiancé Michelle, Lindsey Nicole Stelly, Michael Christopher Stelly and his wife Kaitlyn, and Jacob Adam Stelly and his fiancé Mika; two step-grandchildren, Pauline Hafemann and Benjamin Hafemann; four great-grandchildren, Wynter Snow, Willow Snow, Jonah Stelly, and Amelia Jane Stelly; and one daughter-in-law, Andrea Stelly.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilmer “Mike” Stelly; her parents, Ovelier Dubois and Philonise Touchet Dubois; her son, Kern Wilmer Stelly; and siblings, Telesphore, Yola, Filis, and Edna.
