Dustin B. Romero

New Iberia– Funeral services will be conducted for Dustin B. Romero, age 41, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Frioux-David Funeral Home Chapel with Chapel with Pastor Chris Reis officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Born on May 8, 1984, native of New Iberia and resident of Youngsville, Dustin B. Romero passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at his residence in Youngsville.

Dustin was a loving son, a devoted brother, a loyal friend, and a trusted confidant to those who knew him. His son, Isaac, carries forward his spirit and the quiet strength that defined him. For many years, Dustin enjoyed being a jockey, embracing the thrill of the race and the bond with the horses he loved. Dustin found joy in the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He was most at peace when surrounded by the people he cared about, often cooking and sharing meals—especially his favorite, deer backstrap—creating moments that will be remembered and cherished by those whose lives he touched.

Dustin is survived by his son Isaac Gauthier; father, Blaine Romero; brother, Josh Romero; godfather, Durke Romero; nieces and nephews, Janzyn Andre, Jayden Andre, Jilyan Andre, Julien Andre; uncles, Donald “Bubba” (Michelle) Romero, Carl (Georgia) Tauzin, Sully Tauzin (Debbie), and his aunts, Karen Tauzin Schwartz (godmother), Faye (David) Boutte, Vicky Romero, Enola Russo, and Russelle “Russ” Romero Doré.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Tauzin Romero.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Blaine Romero, Durke Romero, Isaac Gauthier, Jayden Andre, Donald “Bubba” Romero, and Josh Romero. Honorary Pallbearers are Julien Andre, Kyle Simoneaux, and Baylor Conques.
