Dolores Bourque Romero

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Dolores Bourque Romero, 87, will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Nativity of Our Laday Catholic Church with Fr. Jared Suire officiating. Interment will follow at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at Frioux Funeral Home of New Iberia on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 beginning at 9:00AM until the time of the service with a recitation of the rosary by the Men’s Rosary Group at 10:30AM.

A native of Nunez and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero died at 12:10AM on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at her residence. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved reading and being with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Landry and her husband Timothy of New Iberia; a sister, Eulan Richard; four grandchildren, Nicole Kibbe, Jeremy Kibbe, Adrien Hardy, and Denise Comeaux; and eleven great grandchildren, Yusuf, Mohamed, Mariam, Safiyah, Maria, Alan, Joseph, Alicee, Angelle, Henry, Elijah, and Ashtyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis J. Romero; her parents, Ophe and Laura Sellers Bourque; two brothers, Lloyd Bourque and Dalton Bourque; five sisters, Hilda Gary, Irene Bourque, Velma Langlinais, Wilda Vincent, and Myrtle Kilday; and a great grandchild, Angel Marie Ann.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Richard, Gabe Richard, Jeremy Kibbe, Jimmy Bourque, Elijah Hardy, and Mohamed Labiedh.

Frioux Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 337-369-6336, will be handling the services.
