Jeanerette – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Clyde M. Ransonet, age 69, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Jeanerette, on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 2:00PM with Fr. Broussard officiating. Interment to follow at St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 16, 2026, from 9:00AM to the time of service at 2:00PM. A Rosary will be prayed at the funeral home by the Men’s Rosary Group at 11:00AM.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of Lafayette, Clyde Mark Anthony Ransonet passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Oschner Lafayette General Hospital.
If you knew Clyde, you know he lived his life how he wanted, he was a trailblazer. Clyde attended St. Joseph School of Jeanerette and graduated from Jeanerette High School in 1973. He then attended McNeese State University, where he played football. His love for sports continued in his love for Cabbage Patch ball, which he enjoyed playing in his spare time. Above all, he was a loyal Saints fan who loved the NFL.
Clyde is survived by his two sons, Joshua Ransonet and wife Nicole Ransonet, and Zebe Ransonet; grandchildren, Holland Cove Ransonet, Boston Ransonet, Acesyn Boudreaux, Sebastian Fremin, Maddison Fremin; siblings, Gordon Ransonet, Rebecca Vincent and husband Ed Vincent, Jennie Veazey and companion Tony Richardson; nieces and nephews, Chad Veazey, Jamie Olivier, Amy Elkins, Marcelle Wendland; great nieces and nephews, Shelyece McGahhey, Claire St. Germain, Cannon Hairell, Gus Wendland, Bella Wendland, Lindy Cummings, Kaine Olivier, Emmy Olivier, Reese Olivier.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Francis Ransonet and Claire Henley Ransonet.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joshua Ransonet, Zebe Ransonet, Tony Richardson, and Eric Gortman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Frioux-David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. 337-276-5151 will be handling the arrangements.
